At Arculus, we build autonomous mobile robots and the software ecosystems that run them. It’s a mix of cutting-edge tech, complex algorithms, and physical hardware. Right now, we’re looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team in Munich and help us keep our code—and our robots—running flawlessly.

What the role actually looks like

You won’t just be checking boxes at the end of a sprint. Your job is to help us “shift left”—meaning you’ll build the frameworks and strategies that catch bugs long before they ever reach the factory floor.

On a daily basis, you’ll be:

• Designing the Strategy: Deciding what we automate and how we handle testing across our APIs, UI, and system levels.
• Building the Tools: Developing, extending, and maintaining automated test frameworks that give our developers fast, reliable feedback.
• Pipeline Automation: Integrating your tests directly into our CI/CD pipelines to support smooth, confident releases.
• Playing Detective: When something goes wrong, you’ll dig into the logs, figure out the root cause, and team up with our QA and Release folks to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Who you are

We’re looking for a peer who is analytical, structured, and loves to problem-solve.

• The Experience: You’ve spent 5+ years in software testing, with at least 3 of those years deeply focused on building test automation frameworks.
• The Stack: You’ve got solid coding skills in Python or JavaScript (bonus points if you know Rust).
• The Tools: You’re comfortable with API testing (like Postman) and UI frameworks (like Selenium or Cypress).
• The Mindset: You take real ownership of your work, you communicate clearly, and you enjoy a highly collaborative, international environment.
