At AGS, we’re building SaaS solutions for production planning. It’s complex, it’s high-load, and it’s critical for supply chains worldwide. We’re looking for someone to join our AI & Optimization team here in Hamburg to help us push our simulation engine to the next level.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be right at the heart of our tech. We’re working in a domain where things aren’t always mathematically “solvable,” so we need someone who can find scalable, generic ways to tackle complex problems.

Your day-to-day will involve

• Getting deep into our simulation engine, writing performance-critical code in Python and Rust.
• Designing and benchmarking backend services that can handle serious traffic.
• Building out the APIs and services that connect our optimization logic to the rest of the world.
• Developing solvers using a mix of heuristics and constraint programming.

Who you are

We’re looking for a peer—someone who “knows their stuff” but is always ready to learn more.

• The Tech: You’re an expert in Python and have at least 3 years of solid Rust experience.
• The Background: You’ve spent time building high-load backend services and understand how to make software sustainable for the long haul.
• The Mindset: You’re comfortable navigating a big, complex codebase and can take a subtopic and run with it independently.
