Job Position: Teach Spanish in Germany – Visa Sponsorship & Housing Assistance Available
Company: Berlin Metropolitan School
Location: Berlin, Berlin, Germany
If you’re a language teacher who loves the buzz of a global classroom and wants to spend the next school year living in one of the coolest cities in Europe, we should definitely connect.
At the Berlin Metropolitan School (BMS), we’re looking for an awesome, adaptable Secondary Language Teacher to teach Spanish (ideally along with some German or French). We’re ready for you to start as soon as possible, and we’re super flexible—we can do full-time or part-time, depending on what works best for you.
A little about us
We are a bustling, incredibly friendly international school right in the heart of central Berlin. We have over 1,000 amazing kids from 60 different countries, from kindergarten all the way up to graduation. Because we’re an all-day school, it truly feels like a community. You’ll be working alongside a supportive team of 200+ international educators who genuinely look out for each other.
Why you’ll love it here
We know packing up and moving (or just switching jobs) is a huge step, so we want to make sure you feel totally taken care of from day one:
- Relocation Made Easy: Coming from abroad? No stress. We’ll handle your visa sponsorship, give you a settling-in allowance, and even help you find a great apartment.
- The Extra Stuff: You’ll get a €50 benefits card every month, cheap campus lunch options, and weekly health and wellbeing activities.
- The Setup: Our campus is modern, central, and packed with the latest classroom tech and resources. You’ll actually have what you need to teach well.
- The Vibe: We have a strict “open-door” policy with leadership. No corporate stuffiness here—just lots of team learning, professional growth, and collaboration.
What you’ll actually be doing
Instead of just checking off boxes, your day-to-day is all about making learning fun:
- Keeping it fresh: You’ll design language lessons that are active, engaging, and relevant. Because our students come from all over, you’ll adapt your style so every kid feels included and challenged, no matter their starting level.
- Creating a safe space: You’ll build a classroom where kids feel totally safe to make mistakes, speak up, and practice their new language skills without fear.
- Staying sharp: We love teachers who are reflective, keep up with new ideas in education, and actually enjoy getting better at their craft.
- The standard stuff: You’ll keep up with planning, grading, and feedback, all while championing the IB learner profile.
What we need from you
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Secondary Education with an official teaching certificate for Spanish, plus German or French.
- You’ve been teaching for at least 2 years (bonus points if you already know the IB system!).
- You’re comfortable using technology to make language learning more interactive.
- You’re collaborative, kind, and genuinely excited about international education.
