Job Position: Test Electrician/Technician Job in Germany – Visa Sponsorship & Relocation Assistance Available
Company: The Exploration Company
Location: Munich, Germany
If you’re a hands-on electrician or technician who loves building complex electrical systems, solving tricky troubleshooting puzzles, and wants to work on literal spaceships—we should definitely talk. Plus, if you’re looking to make the move to Germany, we’ve got you covered with full visa sponsorship and relocation assistance to bring you out to Munich!
Who We Are & What We’re Doing
At The Exploration Company, we are building Nyx—a modular, reusable orbital vehicle designed to carry cargo (and eventually, humans) into space and refuel right in orbit.
To make this happen, our Electrical Integration & Test Team needs a skilled Electrical Test Technician. You won’t just be maintaining standard setups; you’ll be the hands-on expert building, wiring, and perfecting the custom test racks and ground equipment that our engineers use to validate our spacecraft subsystems.
What Your Days Will Look Like
You’ll be working right alongside our electrical, avionics, and systems engineers. Instead of just checking off boxes, your day-to-day will be highly interactive:
- Building & Wiring: You’ll assemble, wire, and integrate custom electrical test racks and ground support systems from the ground up, connecting commercial equipment with our custom-designed hardware.
- Harnessing & Documentation: You’ll manufacture, route, label, and install electrical cables and harnesses based on engineering blueprints, keeping sharp records of any modifications.
- Troubleshooting & Testing: You’ll run continuity and insulation tests, dive into electrical schematics to diagnose bugs, and support live test campaigns across multiple projects.
- Rework & Repairs: When needed, you’ll assist with inspections, modifications, and basic PCB component rework/soldering to keep the infrastructure running perfectly.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
- We’re Agile: We make decisions fast, iterate quickly, and cut through the usual corporate red tape.
- We’re Open & Transparent: We talk openly about risks and challenges so we can solve them together as a team.
- We Have Fun: We’re democratizing space exploration. Knowing your daily work helps launch vehicles into orbit is a pretty incredible feeling, and we celebrate those wins together.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll fit right in if you have:
- A technical diploma, vocational degree, or solid hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation.
- Proven experience building and wiring electrical cabinets, industrial control systems, or complex test racks.
- The ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings like a map.
- A solid understanding of industrial components (relays, breakers, power supplies, sensors) and wire sizing principles.
- Skill with standard lab tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and continuity testers.
- High attention to detail, a structured approach to problem-solving, and fluent English skills.
Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)
(Don’t worry if you don’t have all of these—they’re just perks!)
- Experience in highly regulated fields like aerospace, automotive, or rail.
- Strong soldering and electronic rework skills (PCBs).
- Familiarity with low-voltage DC power grids or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) test setups.
- Experience with basic CAD tools or designing rack front panels.
