A unique MOD secondment opportunity for a Defuel Engineer has arisen at our site in Devonport .

You will be tasked to scrutinise the work package & support equipment requirements, control execution activities associated with defueling Nuclear Submarines including Irradiated Nuclear Fuel Movement. You will assist in the Intelligent Customer technical decision making for the Defuel process and associated work package requirements to ensure all project, programme, Safety Case and Regulator requirements are met.

What you will be doing:
You will ensure that the platform is restored to a safe & acceptable state ready for Submarine dismantling & recycling post Defuel;
- Providing technical advice and delivery of successful engineering outcomes
- Provide assurance to the Defuel Project Manager and Regulator that the work package is undertaken in accordance with agreed processes and standards.
- Support Customer technical decision making for the Defuel process and associated work package requirements
- Scrutinising the work package & support equipment requirements, control execution activities associated with defueling Nuclear Submarines including Irradiated Nuclear Fuel Movement.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
