They will participate in collaborative multi-disciplinary research activities with internal and external collaborators, particularly with the Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre in the United Kingdom, as well as other hospitals in Queensland and other states or territories.Key responsibilities will include:Clinical Research Projects: Develop a project plan to meet funding and collaborative partner agreements for the successful completion of a multi-site clinical trial.Monitor and drive timely completion of research project milestones.Manage research project documents, including ethics and governance submissions, study protocols, case report forms, presentations for meetings and the development of databases to capture trial data.Governance and Reporting: Create and/or maintain an effective project governance framework involving parties from the university, Queensland Heath and other parts of government.Clinical Trial Management: Working with the onsite staff at partner hospitals, oversee the establishment and ongoing operation of trial sites in accordance with SOPs, protocol and all applicable regulatory guidelines.Leadership and Management: Supervise and mentor more junior research staff.This is a part-time (80%), five-year fixed-term position through to 28th February 2029At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,975 – $122,176, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $127,500 – $142,946 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.About YouA postgraduate qualification in a scientific, medical, or related discipline with at least five years clinical research experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/trainingPrevious experience working on clinical projects within an academic, CRO or pharmaceutical environment.Relevant experience in project management including evidence of management of project budget/s
$1m.Working knowledge of, and the ability to implement project activities in accordance with, ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the NHMRC Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, and all applicable regulations.Data management experience.Previous experience with clinical site initiations and clinical site monitoringPrevious experience in the field of intensive care research (desirable).Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, allocating resources and meeting deadlines in a complex research environment.Highly developed communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation.High level of personal motivation and initiative with the ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary research teams.Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of ambiguity and competing stakeholder needs.Proficient in use of the Microsoft office suite of products including word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook.Ability to travel interstate and internationally.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
