Job Position: Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer Job in Germany – Visa Sponsorship Available
Company: Exploration Company
Location: Munich, Germany
We’ve got a genuinely unique and exciting role open here at The Exploration Company that I think someone with your skill set would absolutely thrive in.
We’re building Nyx, our reusable orbital vehicle. It’s a huge undertaking—we’re talking cargo missions, in-orbit refueling capabilities, and the eventual path to human spaceflight. We move fast, and every single person here is critical to the mission.
We need a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to own the cockpit, essentially. You’ll be designing and implementing the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) that our mission controllers use to monitor and command Nyx. This isn’t just about making pretty screens; this is about ensuring system safety and providing absolute clarity under pressure.
What You’ll Be Building
Your day-to-day is translating extremely complex, real-time vehicle data into a simple, robust, and intuitive UI.
- The Frontend Core: You’ll be the lead on the user interfaces—making them dynamic, configurable, and high-performance, likely using React/Vue and TypeScript.
- The Data Pipeline: Hooking up the frontend correctly to our middleware using high-speed protocols (WebSockets, gRPC) to handle live telemetry feeds.
- Visualizing the System: Taking raw sensor readings, valve states, and systems behavior and creating clean, interactive, maybe even SVG-based diagrams and status indicators. This needs to be perfect.
- System Translator: This is key: You’ll be bridging the gap between our PLC engineers (who handle the low-level controls) and the UI, ensuring the operator interface reflects the spacecraft’s actual state and logic flawlessly.
- Quality and Safety: You’re responsible for the reliability and smooth UX. When mission time comes, the interface cannot fail, and the interactions must be guarded and clear.
Who We Need on the Team
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist yet (we’ll teach you that!), but you should be a seasoned engineer who:
- Is a strong leader in TypeScript/JavaScript and React/Vue.
- Has hands-on experience dealing with real-time data streaming and protocols like gRPC Web or WebSockets.
- Has tackled the challenge of building operator-facing UIs (think control rooms, SCADA, or complex monitoring systems).
- Understands software architecture, loves writing clean code, and is committed to comprehensive testing.
- Thrives under demanding timelines and is meticulous about detail—because the stakes are literally in orbit.
Why Join Us?
- Real Impact: You write code that controls an actual spacecraft. Few people get to say that.
- Fast & Agile: We make decisions quickly. Your brilliant solution today could be flying next year.
- Genuine Team: We are open about our challenges and collaborate intensely. We win and learn together.
- Location: We’re based in beautiful Munich, and yes, we provide full visa sponsorship and help you relocate smoothly.
