Salary: $26 – $34 an hour – Permanent, Full-time

we need 3 good phone technicians. Not just people who can swap a screen – we mean people who actually know their stuff with both iPhones and Androids, can chat with customers without making it awkward, and maybe even enjoy the puzzle of figuring out why someone’s phone won’t turn on.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing Daily

• Fixing phones, iPads, tablets – the usual cracked screens, but also the weird stuff like water damage and software glitches
• Selling accessories and putting on screen protectors (yes, bubble-free… hopefully)
• Talking to customers, figuring out what’s wrong, explaining it without the tech jargon, and pointing them toward what actually makes sense for them
• Software installs, updates, and diagnosing those “my phone is just acting weird” situations
• Ordering parts and accessories when we’re running low
• Dealing with upset customers occasionally (comes with the territory, unfortunately)
• Making sure the shop stays secure and everything’s running smoothly

Who We’re Actually Looking For

The basics:

• You’ve done this before – at least 6 months fixing phones, or you’ve got a qualification (Level 4+)
• You’re cool working weekends and public holidays
• Your schedule’s flexible – we work on rosters here
• You notice the little things (important when you’re dealing with tiny screws and delicate components)
• You manage your time well and don’t leave everything till the last minute
• You’re genuinely into tech – like, you probably fix your family’s phones for free already
• You work well with others

Experience-wise, you need one of these:

• A New Zealand Diploma (Level 4 or higher) in something relevant, OR
• At least 2 years actually working as a phone technician
