Job Position: International Registered Nurse – Aged Care Job in New Zealand with Visa Sponsorship

The Role
We need an experienced Registered Nurse to join us – like, urgently.
You’ll be working closely with our facility manager (who’s also a senior RN) and basically be the backbone of our rest home team. You’ll make sure everyone has what they need to do their jobs well, keep things organized, handle multiple things at once without losing your cool, and provide top-notch care to our residents.
This isn’t a back-office job – you’ll be hands-on, leading by example, and really making a difference every day.
Who You Are
Experience-wise:
- You’re a qualified Registered Nurse with a current APC
- InterRai competent (this is important)
- Ideally you’ve worked in residential aged care before, but if you’re coming from a DHB background and want to make the switch, we’re listening
As a person:
- You’re a natural leader who mentors and coaches your team (not just tells them what to do)
- You genuinely enjoy building relationships – with staff, residents, their families, GPs, pharmacists, everyone
- You’re customer-focused and resilient (aged care can be demanding, let’s be real)
- You communicate really well – both in writing and in person – and you’re empathetic and professional
- You’re great with documentation and time management, and comfortable with computers
- You understand quality improvement and actually care about making things better
- You’re okay being on-call some days each week
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Providing high-quality clinical care and support
- Leading, coaching, and mentoring your team
- Building real connections with residents and their families
- Working with GPs and pharmacies to coordinate care
- Keeping clinical documentation sharp and up-to-date
- Helping residents maintain their independence and make their own choices
- Focusing on continuous improvement in everything you do
What We Need From You
- Proven experience as a Registered Nurse
- Current APC (Annual Practicing Certificate)
- InterRai competency
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Computer literate with strong documentation skills
- Valid work visa, NZ Citizenship, or Permanent Residency
- International Qualified Nurses (IQN) seeking sponsorship – we’ll consider your application!
