If you’re a chef who loves great food as much as a solid craft pour, we want to meet you. Smiths Craft Beer House is right in the heart of Queenstown, and we’re looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to jump into our kitchen team and help us keep things running smoothly.

What’s the vibe?

We aren’t just looking for someone to follow a prep list. We want a chef who wants to take ownership of their section, mentor our junior team members, and actually have a say in what goes on the menu. You’ll be working closely with our Head and Sous Chefs to keep the food as high-quality as the beer we serve.

What you’ll be doing

• Running your section: Owning your station and putting out consistently great dishes.
• Getting creative: Helping us brainstorm and develop new menu items and recipes.
• Leading by example: Coaching our junior chefs and keeping the standards high.
• Keeping it tight: Managing stock, minimizing waste, and making sure the kitchen is spotless and safe.
• Staying cool: Thriving in a fast-paced environment (especially during the Queenstown rushes!).

What we’re looking for

• Experience: You’ve spent at least 3 years in a commercial kitchen.
• Skills: You’ve got the technical chops and a real eye for detail.
• Language: You’re fluent in English (if you speak Spanish too, that’s a massive plus).
• Attitude: You’re a professional with a positive outlook who stays calm when the tickets start piling up.
• Availability: You’re ready to work a rotating roster (weekends/holidays) for at least 30 hours a week.

The Logistics

You’ll need to be living in (or ready to move to) beautiful Queenstown. For the right person already in New Zealand, we are open to discussing visa sponsorship if you meet the requirements.
