Job Position: Chef De Partie Job in New Zealand with Visa Sponsorship
Company: b.effect Brewing Co
Salary: $27 – $30 per hour
Location: Wanaka, Otago, New Zealand
If you love cooking great food, working with a team that actually supports each other, and living in one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand, this is for you.
The Essentials
- Pay: $27 – $30 per hour (depending on what you bring to the table)
- Hours: Full-time (minimum 30 hours a week, and we don’t open super late!)
- Location: b.social taproom in Wānaka, Otago
- Visa Info: We are an Accredited Employer and can offer visa sponsorship for the right person.
Who We Are
b.social is the taproom and restaurant for Butterfly Effect Brewing Co. We’re a favorite local hangout where people come together for great food, fresh beers, and house-brewed kombucha.
We genuinely care about our community, our team, and our planet. Our vibe is all about staying humble, taking pride in our work, and having a good time while doing it.
The Role
As our new Chef de Partie, you’ll be running your own kitchen section and keeping quality high when the rush hits. You’ll work right alongside our Head Chef and Sous Chef, so you’ll actually have a voice in the kitchen.
The fun part: We just put in a new pizza oven and have big plans to expand our kitchen and menu. You will be a huge part of helping us design and execute this new dining experience.
What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day
- Prepping, cooking, and plating great food that you’re proud of.
- Managing your section like a pro during busy services.
- Helping with menu ideas, seasonal specials, and ordering.
- Keeping things clean, organized, and safe (the boring but important stuff).
- Minimizing waste and looking after our ingredients.
What We’re Looking For
- Either a commercial cookery qualification OR at least 2 years of solid kitchen experience.
- At least 2 years of experience running a section in a busy commercial kitchen.
- A real understanding of modern cooking techniques.
- Someone who stays calm under pressure and doesn’t cut corners when it gets busy.
- A great team player who communicates well.
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays (since that’s when the taproom buzzes).
What’s In It For You?
- Good, competitive pay that matches your experience.
- A super supportive kitchen culture with room to grow.
- Work-life balance: Because we don’t open late, you actually get to enjoy the Wānaka lifestyle.
- Great staff discounts and access to our awesome locally brewed drinks.
- Visa sponsorship support if you’re the perfect fit for the team.

Send your CV and cover letter to [email protected], explaining your relevant experience and why you’d be a great fit for our team.
