Maintenance Services Technician Needed in New Zealand (Visa Sponsorship Available)

Job Position: Maintenance Services Technician Needed in New Zealand (Visa Sponsorship Available)
Company: Panasonic Avionics Corporation
Salary: $65,000 – $94,200 per year
Location: Auckland Airport, Auckland, New Zealan

You know that in-flight entertainment screen and Wi-Fi you use whenever you fly? That’s what we do. We’re Panasonic Avionics, and we keep the world’s best airlines connected and entertained at 35,000 feet. We’re a massive global team, and right now, our Auckland Airport crew needs a reliable tech to help keep things running smoothly.

What the job actually looks like

This is a proper hands-on, airside role. You’ll be out there during aircraft turnarounds making sure our systems are flawless.

  • Triage & Fix: You’ll run tests, troubleshoot faults, and swap out faulty tech boxes (LRUs) before the plane pushes back.
  • Drive & Communicate: You’ll be driving tech vehicles around the airport property and chatting directly with airline crews.
  • The Paperwork: Yes, aviation means logs. You’ll keep accurate maintenance records and help keep track of our spare parts inventory.

What we’re looking for

  • The Ticket: You’ve got a CAA aircraft maintenance license or completed a proper apprenticeship (ideally with a B2 Avionics focus).
  • The Experience: Ideally, you’ve spent about 5 years in aviation (commercial or military) and can troubleshoot complex systems under time pressure.
  • The Fitness: You’re happy working on your feet, can lift up to 25kg, and don’t mind squeezing into tight spaces or working out in the elements (Auckland weather can be wild).
  • The Basics: You have a valid driver’s license, fluent English (for manuals and radio comms), basic PC skills, and you’re open to occasional travel (up to 25%).

What’s in it for you?

  • Good money & benefits: A competitive salary and a really solid benefits package.
  • We’ll sponsor your visa: If you have the right aviation qualifications and experience but are currently overseas, we can sponsor your New Zealand work visa.
  • The Vibe: You’re working with a top-tier global brand, meaning great career stability and plenty of room to grow.

Just so you know…

Because this is a safety-critical role at an international airport, you’ll need to pass a standard medical/drug test and get an Aviation Security clearance (which includes a clean police record).
