Alamos Gold’s Island Gold is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality, and Alamos is now investing in a major expansion project which is expected to transform Island into one of the largest and most profitable mines in Canada with an 18-year mine life. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to troubleshoot all mobile and fixed equipment on site
  • Electrical and mechanical installations of sub-stations
  • Read, understand and interpret prints
  • Work with soft start and variable speed drives
  • Install, set up and maintain underground and surface substations and pump stations
  • Inspects equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions
  • Adjust equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work.
  • Identifies additional repairs, compiles parts and labor estimates and communicates to supervisor.
  • Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
  • Completes accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, parts listings and submits drawing revisions.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives.


  • Must be an Ontario Licensed Electrician
  • 3-4 years’ experience in similar functions.
  • Basic knowledge in mechanic and electricity
  • Good physical abilities,
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Available to work fluctuating schedules

The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on a defined rotation schedule (7X7).
