ABOUT THE POSITION

The District Attorney’s Office is announcing a recruitment for one (1) fixed-term Supervising District Attorney Investigator position within the District Attorney’s Office, Bureau of Investigations, assigned to the Northern California Computer Crimes Task Force (NC3TF) located in Napa, CA. This is a two year fixed-term position.

The Supervising District Attorney Investigator is the first line supervisor for the District Attorney Investigators assigned to the District Attorney’s Northern California Computer Crimes Taskforce located in Napa, CA. The Supervising Investigator works under the direction of the Chief Investigator and is responsible for directing the daily work efforts of their division and has an active investigative caseload. The Supervising Investigator takes an active role in performance management, coaching and staff/team development. The Supervising Investigator is expected to work collaboratively with other members of the District Attorney’s Office, as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. ABOUT YOU

Our Highly Qualified Candidate: The ideal candidate has experience in investigating complex criminal cases and must possess the organizational skills to manage a full investigative case load, while also directly supervising the division’s investigators. The candidate will possess skills in developing interpersonal relationships and be familiar with coaching and mentoring techniques to assist with the career and personal development of our team members, as well as have experience in the employee counseling and disciplinary process for employees covered by the Peace Officer Bill of Rights. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working collaboratively within a team framework and developing positive working relationships with investigative agencies, attorneys, and the public we serve.

We recognize your time is valuable, so please note that you must have at least the following required Minimum Qualifications in order to be considered for this position:

Equivalent to six years of full-time criminal investigative experience in law enforcement agencies, including three years of increasingly responsible full-time criminal investigative experience at the level of detective or investigator that is equivalent to the County class of District Attorney Investigator and 30 semester (45 quarter) units of college education in police science, criminal justice, criminology, or a closely related field. Additional related education may substitute for up to one year of the required experience on a basis of two years of education (60 semester or 90 quarter units) for one year of experience.

Certificates and Licenses

California Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) certification must be current, within the past 3 years, and in good standing.

Possession of a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Advanced Certificate and possession of or ability to obtain a P.O.S.T. Supervisory Certificate within 24 months of appointment.

This job class requires travel between various County and business-related locations. Employees who drive on County business to carry out job-related duties must possess a valid California driver’s license for the class of vehicle driven and meet automobile insurability requirements of the County, including review of a recent DMV history. If a driver’s license is required, at the time of the selection interview by the appointing authority, applicants will have to furnish a recent DMV driving record.
