The Simulation Software Engineer Intern will assist in the development and analysis of lunar terrain products towards precision landing. They will build and validate software tools for data generation, design experiments, run analyses, draw conclusions, and document results with the assistance of senior engineers in the area.
*This internship is a 6-month rotation from January 2024 – June 2024.*
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of software tools in Python/C++ towards the generation of lunar terrain products.
- Design and run experiments to aid in the quantification of system performance to guide system development.
- Perform verification and validation activities on generated software tools and data products.
- Participate in software design, testing, and code reviews with mentorship from senior engineers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Knowledge of Python or C++, Bash in a Linux environment.
- Experience with data analysis and design of experiments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with software testing and version control.
- Knowledge of computer vision techniques.
Pay Range: $18-25 per hour*
*The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and the candidates professional experience. Base salary is just one component of Astrobotic’s competitive total rewards strategy.
