What You’ll Be Doing
- Feeding and caring for the chickens
- Checking for signs of illness in the flock
- Keeping daily notes on your work
- Monitoring barn systems (water, airflow, temperature)
- Using automated equipment for feeding, egg collection, and waste management
Experience with These is a Plus (But Not Required)
- Egg gathering systems
- Feeding/watering systems
- Bulk grain/feed handling
- Manure storage and cleanup
The Work Environment
- Outdoor and indoor farm settings
- It can be dusty and smelly, so you’ve got to be okay with that
- You’ll need to be comfortable bending, lifting, crouching, and walking a lot
