Description

Help design and conduct research in skeletal muscle stem cell research while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career. Designs and evaluates experiments. We are studying the role of muscle stem cells in upper airway muscles with obesity and sparing mechanism of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Develops new ideas that promote current research. Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May be responsible for operation of specific equipment. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee. Post-Doctoral Fellow is an entry level position in which the research fellow receives training under close supervision of faculty in the Emory University, School of Medicine, Department of Cell Biology”

Qualifications:

A doctoral degree or equivalent Ph.D., M.D., ScD, D.V.M., DDS in skeletal muscle or stem cell research field with animal experiment experiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
