About the role:
Our South Australian business is thriving, and as such we are on the lookout for a motivated and team focussed Mechanical fitter (auto-electrician / diesel mechanic) to join our high performing team at Orica Olympic Dam. The successful candidate will work on an 8 days off, 6 days off roster out of Adelaide, and will report to the Senior Site Supervisor at the Orica – Olympic Dam Site.
As a mechanical fitter at Orica, you will provide technical support and maintenance to all of Orica’s fixed plant and mobile plant at the Olympic Dam Site. What you will be doing:
General servicing of all mobile and fixed plant and machinery;
- Schedule servicing, repairs, alterations and breakdown maintenance.
- Assist the Territory and Site Managers to manage a maintenance plan for the equipment at their site(s);
- Continually reassess risks associated with regional operation and maintenance processes taking appropriate corrective action as required;
- Providing field support for clients by performing training, reviews and maintenance support on site;
- Participate in safety programs and promote safe work practice.
What you will bring:
- Trade certification in Heavy Road Transport or equivalent.
- Auto electrical knowledge is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer relation and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to attain a Heavy rigid (HR) vehicle license
- Previous experience working on heavy vehicles (advantageous);
