An exciting opportunity has become available for a Managing Principal to join Marsh in Darwin. Working within the Corporate Client Service team, you will be responsible for the retention, growth and profitability of a portfolio of key mid-market accounts. This includes managing and developing client relationships, acting as the client’s trusted advisor, pursuing new business development in conjunction with the Growth team, and expanding the breadth of Marsh products and services to our clients. The role also involves the mentorship of a small broking team.

We will count on you to:

Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring that a high degree of quality customer service is provided to all clients at all times.

Contribute towards the Company’s profit objectives through the effective management and attainment of revenue and expense budgets.

Manage the achievement of Team client service plans, business plans and objectives.

Work with and assist Corporate Leader to prepare, manage, implement and achieve State business plans, strategies and goals.

Meet and exceed service standards agreed in the client’s service agreement.

Maximise team and account profitability through the implementation of efficient and effective work practices, adequate client billing and sensible expense control.

Provide clear and accurate delegation of key tasks to junior broking staff and supporting operations teams.

Consistently meet and exceed own and team revenue, expense and trading profit budgets.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with decision makers within your portfolio of clients whilst taking an active role as Senior Relationship Officer for your team’s accounts.

Monitor the accuracy and performance of direct reports, mentor and develop team, taking necessary corrective action to ensure that performance and services continue to meet client and Marsh expectations.

Possess and apply a thorough understanding of the client’s business, risk management and insurance needs to ensure that our services and programs continue to meet with their needs and expectations.

Lead, plan and implement clear and effective renewal and broking strategies, ensuring renewal process and results meet client expectations.

Actively developing additional business from existing portfolio.

We would like you to have:

Strong industry experience within a Corporate insurance broking environment, preferably with experience managing people

10+ years’ experience in managing a portfolio of mid-large Corporate clients

Extensive technical skills on key General Insurance classes including Industrial Special Risks, General Liability and, Construction

Strong business acumen including a well-rounded knowledge of general business functions including finance, management and risk

Excellent working relationships with insurers and underwriting partners

Exceptional communication, influencing/selling, problem solving and negotiation skills

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of client organisations including the ‘C’ Suite as well as internal Marsh stakeholders

Strong organisational skills in prioritizing work, multi-tasking and consistently meeting deadlines.
