About The Role:

Joining Left Field as a Farm Hand Team Leader, you’ll work hands on at one of our Partner Farms. In this role, you will lead and support your crew, ensuring their safety, efficiency, and well being while building a positive and motivated environment. Harvests may include cherries, potatoes, berries, cauliflower, and more, but you’ll remain at one farm for the season to provide consistent leadership. While you’ll provide leadership and support, you’ll also work alongside the crew as a Farm Hand, contributing directly to the day-to-day harvest tasks and leading by example. This position suits someone assertive, a great communicator (you’ll be required to verbally report), honest, transparent, and able to be direct while always remaining respectful. It’s ideal for someone with a strong sense of service to both their crew and our Partner Farms. All farms are located in the stunning North West Coast of Tasmania, and we are dedicated to sustainable and socially responsible farming.

LOCATION & PAY RATE

Position: Farm Hand Team Leader
Season: Summer / Autumn / Winter – December to August
Work Schedule: Working  most days (including weekends)
Shift Hours: Up to 8 hours to 12 hours per day
Pay: Hourly rate – $30.13 – $30.95 per hour
Visa: Yes, counts towards 88 days
Locals: Always welcome and make great Team Leaders!
Number of Positions: 30+ available
Experience: Preferred, but all hardworking individuals welcome!
Transport: Own transport (and valid licence) required – no exceptions
Duration: December to August (approximately)

Your Must Have’s

Experience:
At least general farming experience is required for this role, as you will be demonstrating tasks to your crew and showing them safe and productive ways to perform their work. Additionally, there are opportunities for those with general farming experience to be trained and trialled as a leader on a harvest at some of our Partner Farms, giving you the chance to step into a leadership role and develop your skills further.
