The Faculty of Education at the University of New Brunswick invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the areas Critical Studies and Social Studies. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Education and have a beginning record of scholarly publishing. The ideal candidate will have expertise in critical theories (i.e., feminist, queer, anti-racist, or disability studies theories) and knowledge applying these frameworks with pre-service teachers in Social Studies education contexts. Experience with critical and community engaged scholarship, public schools, professional learning with K-12 teachers, or curriculum writing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate (Social Studies) and graduate levels (Critical Studies in Education), student supervision at the master’s and doctoral levels, pursuit of a program of funded research and scholarship, and some teaching online. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellent teaching skills. Experience teaching in the K-12 system is preferred.
The appointment, effective July 1, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The Faculty of Education offers a variety of graduate and undergraduate programs in teacher education and adult education that are delivered face-to-face and online.
