The branch develops, interprets, administers, and enforces building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical standards. It also works with the City of Whitehorse to develop shared inspection standards that contribute to safer dwellings, workplaces and public spaces. Skilled safety inspectors conduct a variety of inspections, including building, electrical, plumbing, oil heating, wood stove, boiler, elevator, and gas.About the job:Reporting to the Chief Electrical Inspector, this position is responsible for conducting electrical inspections on all construction projects within Yukon to ensure that electrical safety is incorporated into design and construction as required by the Canadian Electrical Code and the Electrical Protection Act and Regulations.If you are self-motivated, a strong team player who thrives in a busy work environment and has a tactful, professional approach to your work, we want to hear from you.Essential Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Electrician with interprovincial Red Seal certificate;
  • Recent experience in the electrical field;
  • Experience working with various stakeholders on projects;
  • Experience working on both commercial and residential installations in considered an asset.
