Essential Duties:

  • Core Accounting Functions
  • Provide core Cost Accounting Activities, including AR/AP review and analysis, payroll analysis, inventory analysis, journal entries, bank reconciliations, transaction audits, internal controls, GAAP compliance, and other activities as needed.
  • Review financial results and develop management analyses, including summarization of results and recommendations for increased financial performance.
  • Highlight opportunities to reduce costs and gain efficiencies, including areas for improvement and participate in business strategic planning activities.
  • Complete and review ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Estimating Support
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing departments to identify cost drivers and develop external quotes for all products and services as required
  • Identify bills of material from engineering drawings and input into Excel-based pricing sheet to calculate product costs, sales price, and projected profitability as required
  • Distribute job-specific budgets to purchasing and other functional areas
  • Work with functional areas to identify postproduction costs to compare actual versus budgeted profitability

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Required 3+ years’ experience in financial analysis or a financial accounting-oriented role. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred but not required.
  • Prior manufacturing-related accounting experience (costing, budgeting, forecasting and general financial analyst responsibilities) – preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
  • Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, proactively identify and react to potential problems, and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills, with ability to identify financial drivers and perform high level/detailed assessments and analyses.
