Are you a pro at keeping complex projects on track? Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is looking for a Construction Scheduler to join our Project Controls team in Washington, D.C.

We aren’t just any consulting firm—we are 100% employee-owned. That means when the company succeeds, our 2,800+ professionals (including you!) share in that success. Currently, we’re proud to be ranked #50 on the ENR Top 500 Design Firms list, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow their career with us.

The Essentials

  • Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 a year (depending on your experience and background).
  • Location: Washington, D.C.
  • Visa Support: While we generally can’t provide H1B or OPT sponsorship, we do offer support for qualified candidates eligible for the TN Visa.
  • Ownership: You’ll be part of our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Scheduler, you are the heartbeat of the project. You’ll be the one making sure milestones are met and navigating any hurdles that come our way.

  • Project Tracking: Keeping a close eye on critical activities and program interdependencies.
  • Analysis: Digging into project plans and schedule updates to spot and explain any delays.
  • Strategy: Identifying the “critical path” and coming up with creative ways to get things back on track if we slip.
  • Claims Support: Helping develop strategies for negotiations and providing technical support for claims litigation.
  • Communication: Writing technical reports and leading discussions in meetings to keep everyone in the loop.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Software Skills: You should be a power user of Primavera P6 and Asta Power Project, along with the usual MS Office suite (Project, Excel, etc.).
  • Technical Know-how: You can read contract drawings and specs like a second language and understand general contract principles.
  • Experience: We’d prefer at least 2 years in Construction Management. If you have certifications like AACE, CMAA, or PMI/PSP, that’s a huge plus!
  • Requirements: You’ll need to pass a standard Motor Vehicle Screening.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

Since we own the company, we make sure our benefits take care of our own:

  • Health: Affordable Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
  • Security: Company-paid Life and Disability insurance + 401(k) (Traditional and Roth).
  • Balance: Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, and a Paid Caregiver Leave program.
  • Growth: Real career development programs to help you level up.
