Full job description

Wattle Road Early Education Centre is a private 64 place owner-operated centre focused on strong relationships with children, families and the community. We are recruiting a full-time Centre Manager and Nominated Supervisor to lead the team. You would be leading and working with a passionate and enthusiastic team of educators in a homely environment.

Position requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Early Childcare or preferably a Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching (or equivalent)
  • Strong and comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements as a Nominated Supervisor
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification.
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Sound knowledge of both the EYLF and NQS and the ability to effectively manage external relationships with Regulators.
  • Current Child Protection training and a strong understanding of your role as a mandatory reporter.
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of: National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years learning Framework (EYLF) and Workplace Health & Safety legislation and issues
  • Solid computer literacy skills
  • Experience in rostering and staff management
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills
  • High level of written and oral communication skills

Key responsibilities, not limited to:

  • Overall management and operation of the Centre
  • Ensuring the centre is compliant with National Laws and Regulations at all times.
  • Managing educators, organising duties for all educators, overseeing the delivery of the educational program and providing leadership.
  • Maintaining administrative procedures including: maintaining attendance records, recommendations for purchasing equipment and consumables, parent notices and newsletters, service provision data, and departmental requirements.
  • Be innovative and motivated to lead a centre to become the centre of choice for families within the local community.
  • Evaluating and keeping appropriate records.
  • Generating efficient rosters for educators and all support team members
  • Have a strong, confident and motivated personality with an ambition to provide education and care standards of excellence.
  • Supervising and supporting educators with daily duties.
  • Liaising and consulting with parents whilst maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ensure the safety & well being of all stakeholders (children, educators and families)
  • Support, guide and promote positive behaviours.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and self development.
  • Effectively manage budgets
  • Tours, enrolment and waitlist management
  • Staff recruitment and performance management
  • Ensure the Centre is compliant with State Legislation, National Quality Standards and Centre policies
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained in accordance with legislation and company standards
  • Keeping informed about the NQF, NQS, National Regulations plus current thinking, research and practice while implementing the EYLF
  • Implement new initiatives to encourage increased occupancy

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills, highly organised with an ability to multi-task
  • Preferably hold a Bachelor of Education/Teaching or Diploma in Early Childhood
  • Have a high level working knowledge of the EYLF, NQS and QIP
  • Ability to ‘think on your feet’ to adapt and deliver strategies within the centre to support the staff and families
  • Strong customer relationship building
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Child Protection, WWCC
  • Excellent communication skills
