Automation and Egg Collection Systems Technician Job Details:

McLean Farms is a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Pittsworth, 30 minutes Southwest of Toowoomba. Specialising in livestock and food production, the business is involved with a broad range of agricultural enterprises such as grain, compost, and feed mill operations. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation and Egg Collection Systems Technician to join our dynamic team in a full-time capacity.

As the Automation and Egg Collection Systems Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining 14 Prinzen egg packers and palletizers. This role requires a strong maintenance background, exceptional time management skills, and a passion for animal welfare and sustainable farming practices.

Daily duties will include but not be limited to:

• Monitor and maintain automated egg collection systems including packers, egg belts and palletizers.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance as per maintenance schedules.
• Monitor the efficiency of the egg collection machines to ensure effectiveness.
• Strict adherence to animal welfare standards and biosecurity protocols.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of the farm facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure they meet safety and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that the equipment is inspected and maintained to reduce waste.
• Implement and maintain accurate record-keeping.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to poultry farming.
• Ensure adequate spares are kept on site to prevent any downtime.

• Proven experience in maintaining plant and equipment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong record keeping practices and the ability to analyze data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with staff, suppliers, and stakeholders.
