OVERVIEW:

To assist in the delivery of food products to program distribution sites and picking up food donations as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive program vehicles as it relates to all phases of program implementation, including but not limited to: donation pick-ups, food deliveries, picking up supplies, errands, etc.
• Assist with the assembly of food sites and donation pick-ups
• Operates warehouse equipment: pallet jack, electric pallet jack, hand truck, forklift, etc.
• Manual loading and unloading of trucks related to activities conducted by Modesto Food Programs
• Responsible for return of paperwork from food sites and donation pick-ups
• Ensures that truck mileage logs are filled out accurately and completely
• Responsible for fueling of vehicle at the end of a shift
• Organize and collect data for inventory, prepare reports, vehicle inspections, cooperate with others, etc.
• Work with minimum supervision and a high degree of independence. May be required to make independent decisions that may involve unique or unusual situations and/or complex issues and dealing with demanding requests and/or timelines
• Other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education and/or work experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities required.
• CA Drivers License (Required)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be able to pass a motor vehicle check.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience and/or certification in the operation of a forklift.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to carry out assignments in the absence of direct supervision
• Able to function on schedule in regard to keeping appointments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and the public
• Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

EQUIPMENT USED:

• Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
