Each of our employees is committed to uphold our tradition of care, quality, and passion through food, and together, we foster an environment where we can all make contributions that matter–from our manufacturing plants to our office locations and everywhere in-between.Shift: M-F 5:30pm – 1:30am (Must be available to work shift work, holidays, weekends and on call)Overview of the RoleThis position plans, organizes, directs, manages, evaluates and is responsible for the operations, health & safety and budget of warehouse facilities, including the identification of opportunities for warehousing operation improvements.How you will make contributions that matter:Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the operations and budget of warehousing facilities;Plan, develop, and implement food safety programs, warehouse health and safety, and security programs and activities;Develop warehouse operations policies and procedures and communicate this information to employees;Develop and implement profit improvement plans and change management plans;Direct and control corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures within the warehouse operations department;Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the warehouse operations;Remain current with latest warehouse operations technology systems and procedures;Plan, organize and direct warehousing related administrative services such as signage, cleaning, installations, maintenance, repair, safety inspections, parking, and snow removal;Perform day to day administrative tasks such as maintaining files and processing paperwork i.e., reviewing and approving timecards;Prepare or direct preparation of correspondence, reports, statistics related to the warehouse operations area of responsibility, and operations, maintenance, and safety manuals;Interview, select, coach, train, manage, and appraise the performance of warehouse personnel;Promote and influence team members regarding Saputo culture;Drive and deliver a positive change within the workplace;Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships;Problem solve, negotiate, and address staff challenges;Confer with department manager to coordinate warehouse activities, including distribution and purchasing;Review contracts, invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments;Coordinate with other departments in Saputo.You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:Post-secondary education in operations management, business, transportation or warehousing preferred.Thorough knowledge of shipping, operations management, business, transportation or warehousing.4 years of progressively responsible experience in warehouse operations are preferred.Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems & SAP is an assetAble to perform financial calculations and create and manage budgets.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and in particular, ExcelKnowledge and experience of the Dairy Industry is an asset.Work values: develop and maintain working environments that are health and safety conscious, lead by example and offer supportive management, and empower employees to provide service to others and work with co-workers in a friendly environment.We support and care for our employees and their families by providing:Competitive salaries;Advantageous corporate agreements;Full range of group insurance benefits;Group retirement pension plan with employer contribution;Purchase option of company stocks;Group RRSP;Health and wellness program in the workplace;Assistance program for employees and their families;Our story began in Canada in 1954, when the Saputo family’s hard work and dedication created a thriving dairy business.
