The Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced events and sponsorships specialist who excels in developing and overseeing national-scale events and sponsorships, both internally and externally. This role involves crafting a strategic approach that aligns with our overarching corporate and marketing objectives, elevating our brand presence within the Canadian insurance market. You will lead cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and business units across the country, maintain key vendor relationships, and establish performance benchmarks to gauge the effectiveness of our events and sponsorship initiatives.

The role reports into the Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing, Distribution, and Communications and is located at our Toronto office. If you are a dynamic professional with an interest in orchestrating impactful events and sponsorships, we encourage you to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop short and long-term events and sponsorship objectives.
  • Manage and leads projects with outside vendors to execute on events and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Ensure projects are completed within the desired budget, schedule, and quality limits.

External events and sponsorships:

  • Plan, create, and oversee an events and sponsorship strategy that aligns with the overall marketing strategy and supports business/corporate goals.
  • Develop events and sponsorship plans for the organization, containing a high-level summary of tactical programs and initiatives across Canada.
  • Establish and evaluate metrics and performance benchmarks for measuring the success of events and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Partner with business units to learn and understand their business needs and develop engagement opportunities that align with those goals.
  • Plan, lead, and coordinate large scale client and partner events including invitations, logistics, site sourcing, vendor management and day of execution.
  • Lead national sponsorship placements and corporate charitable donations including tracking, payments, and coordinating deliverables.
  • Coordinate Canada’s involvement and participation in Liberty-organized global events and sponsorships.
  • Incorporate, solidify, and leverage the corporate brand image and the image of the company in internal and external events and sponsorships. Assure adherence to company brand standards and guidelines. Ensure consistency with corporate look and feel.
  • Manage the national corporate events and sponsorships calendar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Internal events:

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale corporate meetings including an annual all-employee corporate kick-off, quarterly townhalls, and Canadian leadership team meetings.
  • Provide internal support for coordinating events and initiatives in partnership with employee resource groups.
  • Manage finance expense planning, forecasting, and tracking in addition to sponsorship and event expense invoicing.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of relevant work experience in Events Management or Marketing.
  • Post secondary degree/diploma/certificate in Events Management or Marketing is preferred.
  • Experience leading and coordinating events and sponsorship at a local and national level required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a forward-thinking and innovative mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), content management systems (WordPress), and email marketing tools (ExactTarget).
  • Graphic design experience considered an asset.
