Senior CADD Technician – (AutoCAD Civil 3D) Job Details:

Geosyntec is seeking an experienced Senior CADD Technician to support projects for our San Diego, Costa Mesa, Long Beach, Arcadia, Los Angeles, or Ventura, California offices. The selected candidate will perform computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) for a variety of civil and geotechnical engineering design projects. We are seeking a motivated individual who can develop layouts, grading plans and details for civil engineering projects, including landfills, industrial sites and utilities. Projects also include mechanical drawing systems and opportunities to contribute from the conceptual design stage through construction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafting, editing, and finalizing engineering design plans and details using appropriate and efficient methods and adhering to Geosyntec CADD standards;
  • Operate a CAD computer using AutoCAD Civil 3D to assist in the development of final design drawings and/or figures;
  • Understanding and visualizing overall engineering design markups, and translating abstract concepts to design drawings or figures;
  • Analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine best approach to complete a drawing set or Figures utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D;
  • Operate plotter, printer, scanner, and other input/output devices;
  • Proofread CAD drawings for accuracy, format, and grammar;
  • Working collaboratively with other Geosyntec CADD practitioners to prepare design drawings and details and reviewing completed work products to ensure quality;
  • Assist with mentoring and overseeing CAD Drafting Technicians; and
  • Performing other technical/administrative services, as required.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • An Associates degree in drafting and a minimum of three (3) years of experience performing CAD drafting work in a professional engineering setting or equivalent experience and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. (required)
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D (release 2020 or above). (required)
  • Knowledge of civil engineering basics including sheet organization, topographical data, scales, and coordinate systems.
  • Strong reasoning, mathematical, and geometrical skills. (preferred).
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel. (required)
  • Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D certification (or the ability to become certified within two years of hire date). (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $78,587 / Maximum Salary: $106,093 (San Diego, Ventura)
  • Minimum Salary: $83,195 / Maximum Salary: $112,313 (Costa Mesa, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Arcadia)
