Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.

Please note: These positions are reserved for Inuit Land Claim Beneficiary candidates.

This is a full time, Unionized rotational position. The candidate must be comfortable working in colder climates, during a 6 week on, 6 week off rotation schedule. All travel to/from site, including board and meals, is provided.

Scope:
Labourers are responsible for day-to-day maintenance tasks onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading of cargo, materials, supplies and equipment
• Shoveling, snow removal
• Assisting other trades onsite
• General site maintenance, including assisting in maintaining an orderly worksite
• Painting and light maintenance
• Fueling vehicles
• Running errands, processing deliveries
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Knowledge of basic safety regulations
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to perform physical job functions in all weather conditions (able to lift 50 lbs)
• Strong communication skills
• Previous related experience considered an asset

• 48 hour work week, additional overtime eligible
