Job Description

What you’ll do:

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior – Mid level Test Analyst looking to:

At FinClear the Junior Test Analyst’s key purpose is to ensure quality in what we deliver to our customers. They achieve their purpose by collaborating with business users, end users and technology teams to understand what quality means, educating others of the importance and executing on what is required to ensure they are adhered to.

This specific position will see you work within a team that helps define the standards and ensures the importance of quality is understood. The initial phase of the role will focus on both manual and automated testing with a view to expanding automated testing capabilities using Cypress. Having someone with an automation mindset will help accelerate the process, delivering the project whilst developing the automation framework in tandem.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing testing and quality assurance needs for the business including functional and non-functional testing manually and with automated tests in all test phases (System and Systems Integration, User Acceptance and Production Verification Testing).
  • Delivering agreed artifacts from the Software Development and Testing Life Cycle, such as test plans through to test summary reports.
  • Working closely in a cross-functional team to provide quality assurance capabilities from requirements through to signoffs.
  • Maintaining and extending the automated web-based and desktop-based application test suites.
  • Developing automated tests from manual test cases using industry leading testing tools.
  • Leveraging structured query language to assist with execution.
  • Using Jira and Confluence to manage work, bugs and process documentation.
  • Preparing Test environments and provisioning data.
  • Assisting with release management and reporting.
  • Making recommendations and implementing continuous improvements in your field of expertise.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Training or qualifications in software engineering or computer science.
  • Knowledge in software, testing and quality assurances.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in test automation development (JavaScript, TypeScript and/or Java programming languages).
  • Keen interest to leverage your skills and expand your knowledge in software testing and overall quality assurance.

Bonus points for:

  • International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) or equivalent.
  • Exposure or knowledge in Cypress, Cucumber frameworks and/or SmartBear TestComplete for end-to-end testing.
  • Experience working with SQL databases.
  • Knowledge of PostMan, SOAPUI or equivalent for integration testing
  • Exposure to financial markets, back office clearing and settlements.
