About the Role:
Primo Foods has an opportunity for an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator to join the team in a permanent full-time capacity.
Based on site at our Wacol facility, this hands-on role will contribute to the ongoing development of a culture that promotes the safety and wellbeing of all team members whilst ensuring the elimination of all workplace injuries.
Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide support and training in the implementation and adherence of the JBS Safety System
- Conduct investigations within 24-48 hours into injuries, near misses and hazards
- Maintain corrective actions on a register.
- Communicate notifiable incidents to safe work QLD.
- Ensure compliance with attendance to Safety & WHS meetings.
- Ensure WHS Committee meetings are held, and drive initiatives and actions from the meetings.
- Participate in internal, external and stakeholder audits ensuring compliance is maintained.
- Complete risk assessments for all plant and machinery
- Assist in the completion of Standard Operating Procedures for all processes, plants and machinery on site.
- Ensure risk assessments & Standard Operating Procedures are regularly reviewed for accuracy.
- Create and maintain records relating to safety training, checks, toolbox talks and meetings.
- Generate and maintain safety reports.
- Ensure all contractors undertake site safety inductions prior to the commencement of works.
About you:
- Formal qualifications in WH&S or HR preferred, but not essential.
- Knowledge of manufacturing hazards ideally within a food manufacturing environment
- Strong communication skills
- Good conflict resolution skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
