About the Role
JBS Australia’s Beef City Site (located 35 km west of Toowoomba in the Darling Downs region, QLD) is currently recruiting a Maintenance Fitter – Night Shift to join our dynamic Maintenance team. The position is full time, Monday to Friday including optional overtime on Saturdays where available. Our conditions of employment are one of the best in the industry.
- Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Engaging in fabrication, installation and repair of mechanical machines, instruments or appliances
- Ensuring all work is carried out to company requirements and conforms to relevant regulations
- Identifying faults through the use of fault-finding techniques with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems
Shift information & remuneration:
- Shift hours: 10:30pm – 6:30am
- Hourly rate: First 6 months: $38.6974 and after 6 months’ probation $40.8997 + 20% shift allowance
- Weekly rate: First 6 months: $1,547.89 + $309.58 (weekly allowance) and after 6 months’ probation $1,635.99 + $327.20 (weekly allowance).
- Tool allowance: $30.47 / week.
This sits under the Beef City Maintenance Enterprise Agreement 2023.
About You
- Demonstrable experience in a similar fast-paced industrial manufacturing role
- Previous experience in the meat industry highly regarded but not essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a dedicated approach to work and ability to communicate at all levels
- Continuous improvement approach and the ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Sound knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics (a basic knowledge of electrics and welding skills will be highly regarded)
