Sanitation is one of the most importation position in Don’s Prepared Foods. Food safety and Quality Assurance is extremely important to us.

Job Purpose: To ensure that this food manufacturing facility is kept in compliance with all regulatory agencies before, during and after the manufacturer of all foods produced within this solo facility. All sanitation is geared with food safety first and foremost.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct supervise and manage all employees engaged in cleaning and sanitation to assure effective, efficient cleaning of the facility during and after processing hours.

Establish a time expectation for each area to be properly cleaned. Keep personnel to those times unless you deem more time is needed. Manage sanitation overtime and provide reasons for the overtime.

Manages interviewing, hiring, terminations, employee relations, employee retention and advises management on personnel matters.

Oversee employees to make certain employees are performing the job duties listed on their job description and using the correct tools for the job.

Cross train employees to ensure staff can fill in or back up when needed.

Develops, trains, and coaches’ staff.

Coordinate and complete employee reviews on time with the help, input, and information from Production Manager.

Responsible for the operation and staffing of the equipment washroom during and after production hours.

Assure Sanitors clean both internally and externally following documented SOP’s for all production equipment daily.

Assure sanitation personnel are accurately completing paperwork and verify it.

Perform documented audits of Sanitors to verify they are following documented SOP’s. Retrain when necessary.

Ordering and selection of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Order shop supplies; cleaning chemicals, towels, floor cleaning chemicals, PPE, and any miscellaneous cleaning items.

Monitoring and adjusting of all cleaning chemicals when necessary. Monitor chemical usage and document.

Oversee general trash removal and compactor maintenance. Responsible for recycling of cardboard, plastic, and metal. Make sure trash ozone air sanitizer is working during warm weather.

Responsible for cleanup on all emergency spills.

Follow up and schedule pest control as needed.

Close plant as last manager out at the conclusion of workdays, setting alarms and confirming proper alarm settings and temperatures.

Competencies:

Must have experience in sanitizing in food production areas.

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Knowledge of principles and methods for training and teaching staff.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Maintains strict confidentiality.

Must have excellent attendance /tardiness record.
