Director, Project Management

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of the project management team in the San Diego area
- Frequent local travel to review and assess mulitple projects
- Manager multiple projects simultaneously and interface with Client/Owner at all levels.
- Manage direct staff of Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Partner closely with Superintendents
- Project initiation including conceptual budgeting, scheduling and logistics planning.
- Review of all proposals, and change order requests from GCs, suppliers, and subcontracts.
- Creation and maintenance of the project budget and high-level master schedule.
- Develop and manage staff assignments for each phase of production
- Coordinate with construction management team to identify project risk and negotiate change orders with owner to ensure efficient and effective project production.
- Presents monthly project reports to Executive Leadership.
Position Requirements
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated success at the executive level.
- B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years successful construction/project management experience
- 5+ years track record mentoring, teaching, and developing diverse teams
- Experience working directly with/for a General Contractor is required
- Experience overseeing at least one large project or multiple smaller projects concurrently, with involvement across all stages is required
- Strong background in commercial, industrial, or related construction industries
- Highly versed in Labor, Material, Equipment, Subcontract, and Direct Overhead Expenses as well as Overtime Hours, Total Change Orders, and Exposure Amounts
- Deep expertise in the planning, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, and executing
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines required by project schedule.
- Strong MS Office skills
