About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and results driven Director of Marketing to join our team and promote Salata’s brand and quality products. The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy to drive growth, enhance brand awareness, and achieve business objectives to include identify target markets, drive market analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Our ideal candidate can leverage their technical and creative skills to effectively promote Salata to new and established customers.

Core Responsibilities

Typical activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop a strategic plan that identifies the company’s approach to achieving and executing growth, profitability goals and other organizational goals.
  • Leads and develops the Marketing strategy to drive sales and traffic and to increase brand loyalty.
  • Approves all loyalty updates and campaigns, mobile app enhancements and coordinates with IT very closely on all initiatives.
  • Works directly with the President on market visit, highlighting our commitment to our local communities and demonstrating our give-back philosophies.
  • Manages the marketing section of the FDD to maintain brand standards and relationships within the franchise community.
  • Collaborates with the leadership team on company-wide marketing rollouts and provide insight into market-wide and restaurant-level marketing activity and sales.
  • Coordinates with Accounting on ROI analysis of system wide opportunities and communicates results to pertinent stakeholders
  • Manages a 2% contribution system advertising fund for the franchise system by implementing all marketing and sales strategies including digital, print, radio, outdoor, SEM, promotions, sponsorships, and grass root efforts for a multi-unit restaurant brand and coordinates with the accounting team on post-buy analysis to determine the success.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to: Launch and maintain test and initiative rollouts and develop best practices, ensure integration between departments and agencies so that all are involved and aligned.

Qualifications & Skills

(Qualifications include skills, credentials, licensures, degrees, years of experience. List MUST HAVES, then the preferred, but not required)

  • 5+ years’ experience in media, integrated marketing, or in an ad agency environment
  • A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree is preferred)
  • Firm understanding of digital marketing principles including SEM, email marketing, social media marketing, and market automation.
  • Proven success in developing marketing plans and campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to travel

  • Function in a fast-paced, restaurant, office environment
  • Sit for an extended period of time

  • Occasionally lift 50 lbs. or more

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time exempt position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday. This position may require you to work additional hours and weekends based on business needs.

Work Environment

This job operates out of the Home Office in Houston and remotely from a home office.

Travel: 50%

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected on a project-by-project basis.
