About the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS)
The Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) is the Australasian association of research management professionals. Flinders University is the host organisation for the ARMS Executive Office and provides resources for the Society to operate its business at Flinders University’s Bedford Park Campus.
Since its founding in 1999, the ARMS network has grown to involve more than 4000 members from universities, independent research institutions, government and health and research organisations from across the Australasian region including Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

About the Role
The ARMS Conferences and Major Events Coordinator delivers high quality secretariat support services to the Conferences and Major Events Committee of ARMS for the delivery of the Society’s annual conference, the biennial Australasian Ethics Network (AEN) conference as well as any other major events held by or in association with the Society from time to time.
You will be accountable for all areas of Event Management, including the coordination and management of small to large scale events as determined by the ARMS Board and the Conferences and Major Events Committee, including coordination of venue, venue logistics, facilities, abstract management, sponsorship management, entertainment, catering, invitations and marketing (exploiting the range of social media platforms) and promotional materials for each event.
Other responsibilities include:
Collaborating with the Chief Operating Officer and Conferences and Major Events Committee to identify opportunities for corporate sponsorship.
Ensuring branding is cohesive and promotional materials and experiences deliver a consistent and effective ARMS brand and messaging.
Maintaining all delegate registrations including social details and financial records using EventsAir software.
Assisting committees through review of abstracts and programming.

Flexibility of working hours is required as after-hours work may also be required, including occasional interstate and overseas travel as approved by the ARMS COO.
About You
Having completed Tertiary qualifications in event management, marketing or related field OR an equivalent combination of demonstrated experience and/or education and/or training, to be successful in the role you will demonstrate:
A proven track record in managing administration and logistics in the delivery of large scale (approximately 800 delegates) and small-scale events, including “hands on” planning, coordination and delivery and problem solving.
High level organisational skills including the ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and deadlines.
Working knowledge of EventsAir, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey, Canva and WordPress online software systems
An understanding of the Not-For-Profit environment
The ability to form effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds and contribute to a team environment and work autonomously as required.
