This is an act done for the purpose of carrying out a scheme for the benefit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people under section 25 and a measure intended to achieve equality under section 26 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (TAS).The role will support the Justice Program Coordinator in the planning and delivery of the Justice program and provide cultural advice, experience, and guidance to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Integrated within the prison environment and working directly with Justice involved peoples in and out of the prison, the role will work with a range of stakeholders including Tasmanian Aboriginal Organisations, the Tasmanian Prison Service, Government Departments, service providers and persons with lived experience of the Justice system.What you will bringDemonstrated experience working with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and awareness of cultural practices and normsAn understanding of the justice, and community services sectors within Tasmania
Experience in the implementation, coordination and delivery of programs
Current Driver licence
Ability to obtain a Tasmanian Prison Service Identification Card
Relevant experience, and / or tertiary qualifications
