We’re currently on the lookout for a Data Sourcing Team Lead who will play a key role in driving the automation and scaling of our data sourcing processes. You’ll lead a small but dynamic team, ensuring that we stay ahead of the curve as we gather and process data at scale.
Your Role
- Lead a small but powerful team: You’ll manage a team of data engineers (and some students) who are focused on automating data collection. You’ll help them grow, both technically and professionally, while ensuring the team delivers high-quality results.
- Build and scale data pipelines: Your team will be responsible for sourcing data from various sources, organizing it in our data lake, and ensuring the data is ready for further use or publication.
- Push for automation: The goal is to make our data sourcing processes as automated and efficient as possible. You’ll be at the forefront of this effort, making our operations smoother and faster.
- Collaborate with other teams: You’ll work closely with other departments to ensure they have the data they need and that we’re meeting their requirements for automated sourcing processes.
- Own critical projects: You’ll be managing key projects that directly affect the company. Your leadership will ensure things stay on track and deliver the results we need.
- Mentor your team: You’ll be a hands-on leader, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and troubleshooting support to your team.
What We Need From You
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Leadership experience: You’ve led teams before and are comfortable guiding people to success, all while promoting a collaborative environment.
- Solid experience with Python, along with tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (we use AWS) and workflow tools like Airflow.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude—you’re always looking for ways to improve processes and help your team succeed.
- Bonus points if you’ve worked with Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes.
