GenesisCare, Macquarie University Hospital offers access to evidence-based cancer care services including radiation therapy.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Macquarie University Hospital on a casual basis.
The primary purpose of the Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse is to provide clinical care, education and support the delivery of exceptional patient experience by responding to patient needs as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care.
Key responsibilities:
The registered nurse provides comprehensive care to the patients at GenesisCare following the principles of evidenced based best practice.
- Assesses and plans nursing care for the patient
- Administration of medications as per GenesisCare policy and procedure
- Attends to nursing procedures following competency assessment and/or education
- Clinical documentation and communication as per GenesisCare policy and procedure
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients, family and friends
- Provides comprehensive patient education as per GenesisCare policy and procedure
- Collaborates with Radiation Oncologists and the multidisciplinary team
- Maintains a safe and clean environment working within GenesisCare policy and procedure
- Maintains own professional development and sets goals to address gaps or desired growth
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- Unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Sound clinical experience and competence as a registered nurse
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers
- Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in the field of oncology is desirable
