About the role
Cutri Fruit requires a Diesel Mechanic, with the skills, desire and drive to maintain and improve everything involving factory equipment; from fruit sorters/graders to bin tippers, to forklifts and cool rooms.
The Diesel Mechanic role requires you to have engineering or mechanical skills which we could utilise around the orchards. We have lots of tractors, implements, platforms, vehicles, motorbikes, chainsaws etc.
This position is full-time, and may be required to work shifts, including weekends.
This position reports to the GM Orchards.
Detecting and diagnosing any diesel mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
Repairing and replacing worn and defective diesel parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
Performing scheduled maintenance diesel services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
Testing and adjusting mechanical diesel parts after being repaired for proper performance
May respond to vehicle breakdown
Carrying out instructions and attending to all ancillary farming activities as directed by Management;
Ensuring a safe fruit farm working environment
Skills / Experience required (key competencies, must haves):
A proven record of skills and knowledge in agriculture/horticulture;
Have considerable experience, fundamental knowledge and skills in farm operation;
Trustworthy person who can be relied upon;
Able to analyse and solve problems
Be a responsible person who can work in a team environment;
Enthusiastic, professional attitude and understanding of the objectives of the business
Skill Level:
At least Cert III or IV or equivalent OR 3 years employment experience as a diesel mechanic with relevant formal training
Salary being offered is between $63,000 to $75,000, dependent on experience.
