Normal Work Hours and Days: Normal work schedules are 10-hour days, Monday through Friday. Days and hours vary based on project schedules, locations and workload. Mandatory overtime based on seasonal workload.

Summary:

Responsible for conducting manual laborer and to safety operate and maintain equipment as needed in order to complete project assignments.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a company representative in developing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Pick up/transport/deliver supplies and materials as needed.
  • Safely operate equipment on project site(s) as needed.
  • Aid in inspecting and evaluating incoming equipment and machines and determine malfunctions and defects.
  • Ensure and conduct minor maintenance of equipment, to include monitoring and maintaining appropriate fluid levels, fueling and greasing of equipment being operated.
  • Paint, wash, or clean materials or equipment related to construction.
  • Clean and organize construction sites or yard locations to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Conduct manual labor, i.e., shoveling, using a chainsaw, pressure washing, as needed in order to complete project assignment.
  • Load, unload, and identify construction materials, machinery, and tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
  • Effectively work with other members of project team to produce contract/project requirements.
  • Aid in maintaining record keeping, to include load counts, equipment hours and production.

Other Tasks:

  • Assist in loading and unloading equipment from or to delivery truck.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
  • Assist other operations staff as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably able to perform other tasks satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum:

  • Must possess a valid state driver license with a clean driving record and have up to date medical certification or willing to get medical card.
  • 6 months of prior experience as a laborer.
  • Familiarity with repair and maintenance of construction equipment, machinery and tools.

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to safely and productively operate equipment used for general yard upkeep.
  • Knowledge of and ability to read and follow plans, specifications, and sketches.
  • Knowledge of and ability maintain equipment and follow related procedures.
  • Ability to assess and troubleshoot equipment failure.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor
