Description

Franklin Electric is seeking an inquisitive, detail-oriented and tech-savvy individual to join our internal audit department as a Senior IT Auditor based at the Global Headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role will assist in the execution of the annual Internal Audit Plan and SOX compliance program, with the opportunity to take ownership and drive processes forward. As a member of the Internal Audit team in a complex, growing organization, you will gain exposure to various business and industry-specific processes, while interacting with and making an impact at all levels throughout the organization.

As a Senior IT Auditor, you will increase your understanding and experience with all aspects of internal controls including financial and information technology systems for a complex, growing global organization. The role provides the opportunity to build cross functional relationships with process owners and management; develop effective communication skills; and flex your multi-tasking abilities when required.

To ensure success, internal auditors must be critical thinkers with a keen interest in improving an organization’s internal control structure. Top candidates will have remarkable presentation and report writing skills and display incredible business and/or information systems acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the completion of risk-based operational and SOX audits as well as special projects involving a broad range of operational and information technology functions, system implementations, investigations, and other special projects.
  • Collect and analyze data, identify control weaknesses, perform root-cause analysis and communicate findings and improvement opportunities to relevant business process owners.
  • Monitor and validate implementation of corrective action plans by business process owners in order to contribute to effective and timely realization of improvements.
  • Identify, develop, implement and support continuous monitoring, audit process automation and data analytics initiatives/projects, using available company tools/technology (Highbond Robots, ACL Analytics/Scripting, Python, SQL, Powershell, Microsoft Flow/BI, etc.)
  • Consult with Franklin Electric’s external auditors and provide assistance, as needed, during the financial and internal control audit processes.
  • Collaborate with audit team and global business partners.
  • Expected travel of approximately 5% to certain global facilities

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field OR in management information systems, computer science, information security, or a related field (required).
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, IT or a related field (required).
  • Professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), CompTIA A+, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Certified Data Professional (CDP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Cybersecurity Fundamentals (CSX), Cisco certified network associate (CCNA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills that enable effective interaction with all levels of management.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attentive listening and questioning mind to help identify gaps in processes/controls.
  • Outstanding organization skills to prioritize and the ability to re-prioritize tasks to maximize effectiveness and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong time management and follow up skills to help meet deadlines and commitments.
