The Product Manager is accountable for the solutions portfolio for the industry and application area that enables financial growth and improves. Profitability. They are the responsible guardian of the product line strategy and plan that meets the needs of the industry, exceeds customer expectation and accelerates profitable growth. Product line development will include short and long-range growth initiatives and competitive strategies across all regions.

The PM will be responsible for guiding and influencing a cross functional team in the execution of product development, new technology launches, margin improvement and efficient end to end fulfillment. They will be the conduit between Technology, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Regulatory and the commercial organization, applying product line management best practices to meet our goals and objectives.

This individual will also be encouraged to engage with the industry and evolve their network to support the overall strategy of VWTS

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the total product life cycle for the product line utilizing a multi-generational product plan, interacting with technology, supply chain, sourcing, commercial, technical advisors, regional engineering and product applications to drive product platform penetration and profitable market expansion.
  • Evolve the product line related to the strategic markets as outlined in the VWTS business strategic MTP
  • Establish and deliver short and long-term growth and profitability targets for chemical and service solutions and develop execution plans to drive direct material productivity (DMP) improvement and cost out.
  • Directly own the portfolio and pipeline of new products (NPIs) and champion the NPI process and initiatives to get product and ideas quickly into the market place. The PM should own, direct, and review NPI processes with technology and other stakeholders delivering solutions to customer problems. These problems should be verified with VOC.
  • Provide strategy and guidance to industry experts, sales and product applications teams to develop and execute launch plans to bring new product introductions to the market.
  • Provide coaching and support to industry experts and product applications team to manage project development and DMP cost out using the best design principles.
  • Engage with customers and the wider industry to build market intel, gap analysis and identify growth opportunities
  • Conduct investigations and make proposals to take existing technology into new markets, adjacent spaces &/or to create new markets for Veolia WTS
  • Be confident to make decisions on product development, cost out and rationalization using data and analytics in support.
  • Work closely with sourcing, supply chain and technology to optimise the SKUs and number of raw materials to meet our goals and live our vision.
  • Be conscious of customer feedback, market research, emerging technology, and competitive trends.
  • Track material cost, revenue, and fulfillment and standard margin rates by product, product family, market segment and by region working closely with product operations.
  • Be exemplary in EHS and ethics as part of our culture of safety and doing what’s right.


  • B.S. in an engineering/science discipline, Marketing or related industrial experience
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant sales, product management or marketing, technical experience
  • Minimum 3 years of water treatment / energy process experience
  • Demonstrated ability to create a vision, a strategy around this vision and drive a plan to execute
  • Strong process and project management skills with ability to drive projects and meet deadlines
  • Proven success in developing and leveraging cross-functional and cross-business relationships
  • Strong analytical and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written


  • Advanced degree in chemistry, related scientific discipline or MBA
  • Marketing qualification and experience
  • Experience directly managing a product line
  • Experience working with diverse, global teams
  • Commercial experience in a product/services chemical business
  • Global customer and competition experience around chemical treatment products
  • Multi-lingual skills

Travel requirement: target 25% (dependent on location)
