Coles’ Export vision is to build a global agri-foods business and become the leading exporter of quality Australian food, with a dedicated export team focussed on the further development of our Export strategy and commercial operations.

About the role

In this role you will be part of the Fresh Export team and assist the Export Category Manager in growing profitable sales across our customer base, maintaining supplier and customer relationships, and executing the customer centric export category strategies within Lamb, Pork and Poultry category.
You will collaborate with stakeholders internal to Coles Group and externa in close partnership with Export Category Manager.

You will also:

• Support Export Category Manager on day to day sales to international and domestic markets
• Manage the execution of sales through collaboration with supply planning and export shipping and operations teams
• Manage stock reporting and overall stock position
• Handle customer complaints and claims through collaboration with customer and functional teams across Coles (category, production, shipping, compliance)
• Support Export Category Manager on business development and NPD opportunities
• Manage market intelligence analysis to support commercial decision making

About you and your skills

As part of the wider Coles team, you will be key member of the export team. Through effective partnering and support across the meat produce business this is a great opportunity to bring your proven skills into this exciting role!

You’ll also need:

• Ability to work in a cross functional team with proven influence and negotiation skills
• Commercial acumen with experience applying this to interpret industry dynamics and competitive retail & export landscape
• Strong analytical skills demonstrated through proactively sourcing market insights and data to formulate category recommendations (e.g., products, markets, pricing etc.)
• Proven experience in a fast-paced retail or FMCG
• Exposure in export and international trade and understanding of category management
• Prioritisation and organisation skills required to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in direct supplier and customer relationships
